Ohio Valley Arabian Horse Association
This club is based in the Dayton, Ohio area, drawing members from southwestern Ohio and even some members from Indiana. Each year, OVAHA puts on what is considered "the best little horse show in Region 14." This show was started nearly ten years ago as a response to Arabian and Half-Arabian owners who wanted an inexpensive, one-day Class A horse show. Held at the Darke County Fairgrounds in Greenville, Ohio, the show attracts many amateurs.
The Ohio Valley Arabian Horse Association also sponsors a Futurity which is held the evening before the Class A show which is on Saturday. The show is usually held the last weekend of July -- hence, its name -- The Summer Sizzler.
The OVAHA group meets regularly through the winter months, inviting speakers and encouraging participation from members. The club also has a recreational riding program, and a high point program. The annual high point awards banquet is held in mid-winter, with beautiful trophies given to high point winners.
The club also has its own web site: www.ovaha.org
