Daniel Boone Distance Riders Association

This horse club is dedicated to the distance riding sports of Endurance and Competitive Trail Riding and is one of the largest and most prominent distance riding clubs in the nation. Officially, a Kentucky-based club, the Daniel Boone Distance Riders has members from across the state as well as Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

Each July, the DBDR sponsors the Summer Breeze ride, and in October, sponsors the Kentucky Stampede. Club members also put on the Sheltowee Run, Chicken Chase, Goat Ridge, Top of the Rock, Spook Run, and the Kentucky Die Hards rides. The club also sponsors the annual Spring Tune-up Clinic, a hands-on opportunity to have dental, veterinary and chiropractic exams of horses before the new ride season begins. Coming up for this club are two major rides: DBDR member Lois McAfee is hosting the 2000 AHA National Championship Endurance Ride in Henryville, Indiana, and DBDR will host the 2001 American Endurance Ride Conference Championship Ride in Morehead, Kentucky.

The club also has its own web site: www.dbdr.org
